back to pimping Canadian bands:

Big Sugar--All Hell for a basement

Written about my neck of the woods. Their singer/guitarist Gordie Johnson toured with Double Trouble for a while, and was on their release with several other guitarists. They were a pretty versatile band. I always liked this song, though some of my buds hate it.

Ok guys, something a little different.
This is classical guitarist John Williams with a beautiful piece of music, entitled 'Recuerdos De La Alhambra' or the tremolo study.
I hope you enjoy. :D
Sorry folks, I've lost the rest but you've got it below, so I don't need to re-do it.
ha ha sorry about that, a little mis-hap.

Back in the sixties I took classical lessons with a teacher from the Royal College of Music in Manchester and he showed me the tremolo movement.
If I remember correct, the fingers of the right hand, 1st, 2nd, 3rd or better to say 1-2-3 pull upwards thus:
3-2-1-2 3-2-1-2 3-2-1-2 3-2-1-2 .....continuous.
Try tapping that out on your desktop and see how fast you can go, that's how difficult this is. You can see how he uses his thumb.
The fingering with the left hand is quite easy. It's all about the movement, hence ( the study )
Try it, have fun. :D
I can post a link to tabs if you want.

Well I can't find the tabs now. I've been having problems with my pc for the last couple of days. Keeps crashing out on me at bad times, you know how it is ? I keep losing stuff. Never mind, I'll sort it.
If I remember correct, it was Miami Mike who put the classical tabs up on a thread somewhere, so he might still have them.
If anybody wants them.
Shut up Rhumba.

A while back Miami Mike had a couple of post on Burton Cummings. That got me to thinking about singer/songwriter/guitar picker Steve Goodman. Steve wrote the quintessential railroad song City of New Orleans. For those of you not familiar with Steve's music here's a sample:
