So I just listed my first item for sale on ebay (a korean made G&L Legacy). Now I'm no computer whiz but I'm by no means a dummy either, but I found posting the sale rather difficult. Has anyone else found the listing process more complicated than need be or was this just me?

Nope, I've sold over $1000 worth of items in the past year and have been selling items on eBay for over five years.

i would set it at a reserve at least your safer in making a sale. if you want say 500 for it, u set the reserve for 500, if the bid doesnt come close you don't have to sell it.

Its a no reserve auction. I just set the start price at my minimum acceptable price. My main issue was with the pictures. Despite using phototbucket I was still forced to post one picture sideways because of URL spacing? I dont see how wether the picture is posted right side up or sideways makes a difference, but it seems it does.

Anywho, I hope it sells cause I would like to reinvest the $ into a Blackheart handsome devil amp.

That will work okay too. Beware of the Nigerian Scam...they seem to go after the newbies. Read about it in their help section if you're not aware of it.

I have never sold on ebay strictly buy. I think you did a good job for the first time though I might have used the second photo as the first

I hate to tell you this, but generally listing something AS IS will keep people from bidding. I know how it feels to want to protect yourself from scammers, but in my opinion and past experiences it's really not as necessary as you might think. Ebay and Paypal will keep you protected as long as your description is detailed. Take pics of any flaws.

The best way to go about selling a guitar is through detailed description (doesn't have to be a novel) and pics, and make a small vid of the guitar working and post it on youtube. Do that, and you should be ok to lift the AS IS selling deterrent. No joke, it turns people off pretty hard.

I revised the ad to no longer state As Is. My intent was to protect myself, but since there are absolutely no probs with the guitar this shouldnt be an issue. The few scuffs front and back are so slight that they didnt show in the pics. I also added free shipping with the buy it now, not that I expect anyone to actually use the option.

Thanks for the input! It's much appreciated!

if your guitar doesnt sell, i would take the bin off and put in a reserve. some people get put off by the high starting bid and high bin. with a reserve you can start it low and let it gradually build up..again it's all up to you.

also i would of shown more detailed pics of the guitar, consider placing the guitar in a light room so it wont look to dark

anyway good luck

It didnt sell! :x I think your right Crimson, Unfortunately that was the brightest room in the house. I'll drag it outside today and take new pics in the sun and relist it. Now I have to wait atleast another 5 days to get my amp. :?
