My fav Jimi tune? That's too hard to answer. I have several, which are Hear My Train A' Comin', Wait Until Tomorrow, Axis Bold As Love, Are You Experienced and Spanish Castle Magic.

Not to be too cliche but Little Wing is a great tune too...

I often wonder where Rock & Roll would be if not for Jimi.

Jimi is an icon in modern culture. He was different even when everyone was different. He followed his own path. His recording career was very short and in that small slice of time he wrote some of the most wonderful music to come out of the sixties. His guitar playing was so unique at the time, it blew away everyone, including the best guitarists of the day. His stage act was over the top, and he tired of that image later in his career. It was about the music that he wanted to create, not the music he had created. He was moving towards a jazz slant when he passed away. I can only imagine what his music would have morphed to if he had not left us so early. His music catalog is deep and his songs are timeless, it is impossible for me to pick just one song. They all sing to me.

Castles Made of Sand. Played it for a teacher (school, not guitar) once and they didn't believe it was Jimi Hendrix. It was too "mellow." I didn't (couldn't) say anything.

Fav. Jimi tune: "All Along The Watchtower". Fav. LP, "Are You Experienced" just based on the number of hits. Really as far as listening and good work on the record, both "Axis Bold As Love" and "First Rays of The New Rising Sun" are pretty awesome.

Love love love Jimi,
some of his weirder songs are my favorites.

such as
Up From The Skies
May This Be Love

My room is practically covered in canvases and posters, insense, and a gold record.

Yeah, that star spangled banner was great.

I just think people are afraid to mangle the nation anthem like that again.
