Guitarist Dave Carroll from the band Sons of Maxwell has written a song about how United Airlines broke his Taylor guitar. He's hoping to get one million views for the video:

Sometimes it's better to ship your guitar rather than let the cargo people have their way with it.

**Breaking news** -- looks like the story has a happy ending:

But he still plans to release the other two songs.

No wonder United went in to bankruptcy. The heck with getting it fixed. Make them pay replacement value. Thanks for sharing Ellen I'm sure he'll get his million views and hopefully some compensation too.

The first thing I thought about here was the line from John Hiatt's song "perfectly good guitat" where he says
There oughta be a law without no bail
smash a guitar and you go to jail.

Don't worry: the broken one is not the only nice Taylor in that vid. By the time a million people have viewed it Taylor ought to give him a new guitar themselves: he's worked hard to give them a ton of free advertising...

Cheers - C

I remembered this incident from a few years back.

"July 10, 2005: Ravi Shankar's and Anoushka Shankar's sitars were broken by Air France during transit in Paris even though they were marked fragile and special handling was requested. Two sitars from India were brought just in time for the concert in Arle's. The same week, one of Ravi's students sitar and a cello were also broken by Air France in transit via Paris."

It's on Ravi Shankar's official site.

http://www.ravishankar.org/

I also believe that David Gilmour played a Telecaster before the Pink Floyd years, and that guitar was lost or stolen during a transit flight.

Anyway, I really like the way this guy made his point about his "Broken Taylor guitar" :)

See ya around.
Claude. 8)
