Notice I said "play" by that I meant playability and feel of the neck. Now the subject of "tone" is a different animal all together. I will not get that subject started again ! As all of you know it's very subjective!

Hi Snowy: nice to see you around. I was on the verge of starting an "anyone seen Snowy?" thread today. But I looked back at your last post and realised it wasn't quite as long ago as I'd somehow thought.

Anyhow: carry on twangin' that thang! (When's your Boss gig, BTW? Must be soon - or just past.)

Cheers - C

Hi Ceri,
Since getting my dog, I've not been online nearly as much. As for the gig, it's the 14th, one more week to go. I'm looking forward to this show, especially after seeing the Glasto gig on TV. Hope things are good with you dude, I'll keep twangin

Gratz, I'm with you in that my Gilmour NOS is by far the one guitar I could not do without! It's a tone monster! 8) I just wanted to give the 57 C shaped neck on my MIJ it's props! Glad to see you and Snowy in the same thread. It's been a while! :)

Thanks hop,
Im not sure if you know that my wife and I have pulled out of the Tea Room .It was something that was brewing for a while, but when our lease came due there was alot of bullying by the landlords. We were faced with a no win situation so we pulled out.
Its been a hard month and a half but we are seeing the end of the turmoil. I believe that God delivered us from the place we were in and is going to give us the opportunity to really do well .
sorry to go off point but its good to talk to you guys again

Snowy I know how you feel. I have the same 62 reissue MIJ that I bought in the 80s, and every guitar I bought after cost more but could never take its place. I played that guitar so much I had no frets left. I had them dressed twice then I had to get a refret. Thats how much time I spent with that ax as I never had to refret any other guitar I owned. I just got a tele deluxe last month which was the first Fender I bought in 6 years and it is just off the chart in every aspect I do not own a MIM but what I hear from the guys on the forum they are great guitars but as it is I have 4 strats and 4 teles with 3 of the teles being MIJ and I can honestly say the quality is on par with every model I have but my 62 will always be #1.

Cant really have an opinion as I have only ever owned MIM's and at the moment I only have my MIM Tele 72 Custom RI although she is amazing, I call her Lexi. I'm saving (still!) for an AV 52 Tele RI because I love Tele's and if I'm ever going to have one with the original 2 single coil config then I want it to be the best but I cant see it replacing Lexi as my main axe as she has my tone 'in there' and I honestly believe from playing other 72 RI's that I got a gem.

I believe it is the luck of the draw with MIM's, CIJ's seem to be more consistent but again: luck of the draw and the MIA's about 90% consistent.

My friend has a Korean Lite Ash Tele and it is class as well.

CC

Very cool Straycat, I have a feeling this guitar will be the same with me. Definately a keeper 8) I've had MIM Strats and Tele's in the past, that's what turned me on to Fender in the first place. I'm looking at a Baja Tele at the moment too, my local place has become a Fender authorised dealer. The place is full of Fender amps and guitars, I'm gonna end up broke
