Hey guys in Fenderland and especially those of you in South Florida. My son's new band, Resisting Vegas, landed a spot at The Talent Farm on July 20th, a really well known spot down here. If you are in the area and want to catch some really good music, come on in and support the local talent; these are a bunch of hard-working and very talented musicians. They are in the process of redoing their myspace page, but there are a couple of songs on there... www.myspace.com/resistingvegas. If you need more info, email me at bluerex02@yahoo.com.

Thanks for the read.

Cool man!! I thought the first song was just average personally. I just couldn't really get into it. But the second song was really cool!! I'm pretty impatient when it comes to songs on Myspace by local type bands. I'm guilty of listening to about the first 30-seconds and moving on. But I really did sit and listen to the second "Body Warmth" song all the way through. Nice voice, love the controlled vibrato, great story line, that's a really good song!

I apologize if I seem a bit harsh about the first song, but the other one really just blows it away. It has an air of maturity and innocence at the same time. The lyrics and presentation are great! I'm a pretty tough critic dude and that song had me captivated. My advice would be to move it to the top of the playlist.

My best wishes for the gig.

I'm more connected to the Blues and Classic Rock community here in SoFla. Still I'm a bit embarrassed to confess I've never heard of The Talent Farm. Looked them up and the place is literally on the edge of civilization, you could throw a rock into the Everglades (almost). No wonder I never drove by it.

Anyway, the band sounds good. I'm not deep into Metal, but I know some people who are so I'll send them your son's way. Who knows, I might show up with them.

Steve,
They are as far from metal as possible...they are classic rock, alternative, punk..all original songs that are written by Michael and Maranda, the singer...come out, you'll enjoy it and I;ll get to meet another Fenderite in person...bring your friends

Shredd
That first song actually started as an untitled instrumental written by Michael with his first band. Maranda added the words. It is a rough first cut which definitely needs cleaning up.

Hey Steve; I hope to be down there between 12/18 and 1/4. Perhaps we can all get together for a Shepherd's Pie and brew again. :

Doc

I'm sorry, I was not clear. It looked to me as if a great many of the other bands at TTF are metal when I checked out the site. I even saw one band that listed its genre as "Doom Pop". Isn't that an oxymoron? Well, I guess if you can have sunshine pop, you can have . . .

By the way, the people I wanted to bring will be on vacation at that time. My boss's daughter plays guitar and I bet she'd love to go to something like this. Just not sure they will be available.

Hey Doc,

Hope you had a good 4th. I'd love to get together again. At the present, I have no plans to go north for the holidays so I expect to be available.
