Actually it has been several months. This is great news for me. This will also explain my lack of posting lately.

I finally (after several years) found a team of Dr.'s who care and are going to do what can be done for me. I have had lung issues since a motorcycle accident in 1979 and through my foolishness I continued to smoke cigarettes until 2000. So I have severe emphysema which has been diagnosed as COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). The first Dr. that had tests done decided she was not going to do anything and my breathing continued to get worse. I got fed up with her lack of care and found a different Dr. For the past month I have been undergoing tests (and other Dr. visits) for Pulmonary function so that the Insurance Company will be satisfied at my need for home oxygen. The tests and Dr. visits are sometimes very tiring. My lungs are functioning at 60% of normal.

I am having a blast at this point in my life with Family and Friends and the oxygen will only help me enjoy my life even more. I am looking forward to the home oxygen so I can increase my activity levels.

Know of any bands looking for a guitarist on oxygen?

Hey, pal, I am glad you didn't settle for a doctor that had given up on you. You made a positve choice and your quaility of life will improve because of it.

Good for you. Keep rockin'. buddy. :)

Great stuff Chet. Atleast the new doc's care, and your feeling good about it. Only good things can come of it.

Man you must be spaced out all the time on OXY. I remember that stuff at the birth of my first kid. One minute me and the missus are clowning around giggling our heads off high on the stuff. Next minute the whole world went ballistic and hasnt recovered since.

It's good to hear you're finally getting the help you need...

My wife suffers from the progressive form of MS, so I know what it's like trying to find a Doc who's in your corner...

I wish you well, sir...

Hi Chet, glad to here you are getting positive treatment.
I know what you are going through, I have COPD myself and I know just how disabliling it is. I have to have regular tests myself ( blowing into that machine ) I have three inhalers I need to use everyday, Salbutamol, Tiotropium and Fluticasone Salmeterol.
Sometimes I feel like I need the oxygen myself, I have good days and bad days, at times climbing the stairs can be hard work. I haven't been able to get out and play with bands for a long while now. Just can't carry my gear about.
Anyway on a bright side, my doc is a blues guitarist, yeah, we've actually had little jams in his surgery, so he's kinda sympathetic to my cause but I won't bang on about me.
So I hope things get easier for you now and generally improves your life.
All the best wishes to you.
Rhumba.

Glad to hear you've got a ray of sunshine Chet. Not a cure, but some relief, at least.

Start a Punk band, can't think of anything more ballsy than a punk guitarist with an o2 tank strapped to his back.
