Well today is Canada Day everywhere in the Country, and again this year it happens just before the Fourth of July. We are 142 years old as a Nation that rocks. Less celebrations this year because it falls on a wednesday but anyway, it's cool that we can take it easy in the middle of the week. Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians.

While we're at it I thought it could be cool to know the day your Country celebrates as his official day. This weekend will be the Fourth of July for our Americans friends, and on July the fourteenth will be France day. So what's yours? :D

Happy Birthday Canada! You rock!

Midweek - who cares? Celebrate in style!

In the UK we don't really have a single national day as such. I suppose the saints' days of the respective countries come the closest:

England - St George's day; 23 April
Scotland - St Andrew's day; 30 November
Wales - St David's day; 1 March
Northern Ireland - St Patrick's day; 17 March

They're not national holidays, though...

Cheers - C

Ceri, how come you don't have a National Day to celebrate? In the English part of Canada they still celebrate the Queen's birthday, Queen Victoria of course. Anyway the best part is you don't work on these days yeah.

5th of june, it's not a national day but on the 5th of july 1849 the constitution was signed and we got 'democracy'
I'd say the workers international day, 1st of may, is more of a national day over here

Yeah? Well - I'm sure she'd be highly amused!

We don't have a "national" day - but we have several official days off. For some reason they are known as "Bank Holidays". Tells you something about who runs the country...
