I'd get a Squier if I were you.

I had an older starcaster that I learned on. My advise would be to get a decent squire.

I would not put my money into a Starcaster. Of course I am a little more seasoned player than when I first started. I am siding with the others here, Squire over Starcaster.

Just remember you get what you pay for with Fender/Squire/Starcaster guitars.

I too advise that you look into a good Squire.

Hi Blaze97, and welcome to the forums, you will find a lot of great information here.
Is this a first guitar? are you just starting out? My opinion is to buy as much guitar as you can afford, if you are serious about playing.
Have you checked out the starcaster forum?
Whatever you decide, let us know, and post pictures.
Good luck
Bill

I too would go with any of the Squier series over the Starcaster line. My younger son has two friends who both own Starcasters. I've spent alot of time "modding" them to turn them into the guitars the boys hoped they would be.

With the amount of cash they have invested in new pickups, pots and tuners they could have bought higher end Squiers or even used MIM Standards.

The Starcaster isn't a BAD starter guitar but you will outgrow it and it's capabilities quickly.
