I found a daytona hamer at a yard sale for 60 dollars and its in great shape Was this a good deal I have never even heard of a daytona hamer but it seemed like a good deal and it came with a 40w amp

How could you go wrong? Sixty bucks would get you a couple of sets of strings and a replacement tube or two, so getting a functional (and probably very good) guitar plus an amp is a bragworthy deal.

Thanks guys I live this guitar and if I'm not mistaken wasn't hamer bought by fender in 2007

This is true (in as much as they bought Hamer's parent company, Kaman).

And Hamer don't currently list the Daytona in their catalog - draw your own conclusions.

Far as I can see the budget range XT Californian is the closest Hamer currently make to a Strat type guitar, and not many of us would confuse the two:

. I believe the talledaga hamer replaced the daytona hamer right?

The Talladega's much more of a Tele-meets-Les-Paul than a Strat-o-like, wouldn't you say?

True it's closer to a telecaster than anything but those talledaga hamers are pretty nice
