our band needs a PA system. right now we are running the microphone through a line 6 15 watt and it sounds horrible. we are a teenage band that cannot get jobs. Are there any good PA systems out there for less than $250? i know its hard to get a good one but what would be the best?

Just buy a powered PA head/mixer similar to this Peavey http://tinyurl.com/na6gyu, try a pawnshop or used instrument shop. Than get two mains with 15" speakers, at least one monitor, and one mic.

Well how do we mic the amps? You don't! Learn to control your onstage volume by just adjusting amp volume.
