I just saw B.B. here in Wilkes-Barre Pa. on Sun. Nov. 18. He comes to town every year or two. I've seen him about a dozen times! Your gonna see a great show! The only downfall is that the older B.B. gets, the more he likes to talk! He's a real "story teller". At last years show, in the middle of a story a heckler yelled out "shut up and play your guitar". Well, he was escorted out by B.B.'s people! B.B. didn't like that! But when B.B. plays I still get goosebumps! He has a great band, and lets everybody solo. Last year they let you take pictures, this year NO cameras! All in all he's a great showman and puts on a great show! Have fun at the show blues boy!!!

He's playing out of an old LAB L5 amp made by Gibson. Both he and his other guitar player use them. Take notice in the first picture with "Lucille", he has the amp inside a three sided plexiglass enclosure that he always uses. I wonder what's up with that?

Wow, he's still using the old Lab5! The plastic frame is to isolate the sound so the FOH mixer can get a cleaner signal off the Lab's mic without kick and other drum leakage, seeing that it's right in front of the kit.

I had to follow up on the show............... in one word, PHENOMENAL. And, at points, it turned into the thrill of just being in his presence. Sitting thirty yards away from the King of the Blues. Man, I don't think that I'll ever forget this........................

A lot of the old blues guys are frankly kinda nasty in person. Very hard, tough, battle-scarred dudes often with a lengthy substance abuse history.

BB stands as a kind of saintly icon above the fray. He is literally like some angel sent from above to teach us how to be. I know that sounds crazy, but having spent some time with him, he's all that. The guy on stage is the guy backstage. No separation, no showbiz. The Dalai Lama of blues.
