If you have not yet seen the Man , ya better go now !!!!!

My lovely wife has taken me twice to see him for my B-day as he just so happens to come around here about that exact time of year and it has been awe inspiring both times.

now if I could just get to a buddy guy show !!!!!!!!

I've heard he's not coming to europe anymore. :(

He's high on the list of artist I wish I could see one day, together with Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and Bruce Springsteen to name a few. The sad thing is that I most likely wont get to see any of those, they come around here rarely, and usualy sell out realy fast.

I saw him earlier this year in Rochester, NY. The man is a force of nature. I never thought I would see an 82 year-old man rock a whole theater.

He closed out the show I saw with "Key to the Highway," a song that I always loved, but it was the most emotional performance I have ever seen... almost like a goodbye to the audience.

Amazing show.

I took my daughter to her first live concert, who at the time was 13, to see BB three years ago. To this day she still talks about it, the show was in a small venue and I have to say, it was one of the best shows EVER. He is THE KING!!
Enjoy.

When I opened for him at the Boston Tea Party, I was bringing my Twin backstage in the afternoon, nobody around. Struggling with it into the green room, and there's this guy, alone in there. "Hi, I'm BB!" Big warm smile, he extended his hand. I almost had a heart attack.

He is exactly the guy in person you see on stage. It was like running into Jesus backstage at the Sermon on the Mount Lounge. Totally genuine, no ego, treated me like an equal. A truly amazing guy, and a real human being.

His bandleader was amazed at our band as we had a horn section that could read charts. BB's horns just played by ear, they couldn't read music. But even the band were the nicest guys ever.

If the blues is a religion, BB is the Redeemer. When you go to see him, know you are in the presence of a funky, soulful Holy Man.

Sure, in the old days that happened all the time. Local bands could always get to open for touring acts. Besides, BB was a relative unknown back then, at least by the general public. Like I said, his band was just a bunch of guys he threw together who couldn't read music, and they were pretty bad. Not that it mattered much with Riley layin down the Law up there.

That's a real loss for young players today, they never get to throw a garage band of friends together and open for The Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart, Cream, BB, The Velvet Underground, the Grateful Dead or have the J. Giels Band open for them!

Doesn't Clapton's yearly guitar blowout for Antigua come pretty close to that? I missed this last one, should be out on DVD pretty soon.
