Hey guys! So I just wanted some opinions about these two Wah Pedals. I currently own the Cry Baby Classic, I've had it for quite a few years and I must admit the Pot has been pretty scratchy! Ive just been using tuner wash on it, helps for a little bit. Anyway Ive been considering getting the Vox Wah pedal. I dont use a lot of heavy gain when I play. Anybody have any feedback on this? Would this be a good buy? Many thanks!!

To my ear, there's no comparison. The Vox 847 is more useful, and (more important in my enviroment) much, much quieter.

I'm using a Vox, it was simply the best sounding wah in the shop
Have only compared it to various dunlop wahs, but unlike many wah pedals I'm capable of using mine as a 'tone control'

I'm not really using a lot of wah-wah, as I said, I use it more as a tone control and then eventually pull off a little wah lick or two!

Me, too... I tend to use a wah as a filter variable in real time.... find a nice position to park it in for a particular tone, adn then very slowly and very subtly move around that mid-point for some interest.

I haven't tried to get the "White Room" solo kind of thing going (except as a comical effect) for a long time, and every couple years a client asks me to do something that sounds like "Theme from Shaft."

But the Vox is the best sounding low-buck wah, for sure.

I have a crybaby and an old vox wah. I would say vox just because thats my opinion. It feels like a better built pedal to me. Both are good pedals though.

I don't use on much, but I've had a Teese wah for a few years now. There seems to be new ones coming out all the time. The fasel inductor will give you a real nasal sound if that's what you're after?

Wah's are really subjective. It just depends on what you need and expect. My Classic is just fine for the rare times I use it. I also tweaked it a little. I also have an old 70's Fender Fuzz Wah that's pretty cool. I had to tweak that one too. It's not the reissue, it's the one after that. If I you use it a lot, I go with the Vox it's a ted quieter and a bit mote vocal sounding. The Vox V848 Clyde McCoy Wah Pedal is the real deal IMO, but there's so many variations now.

I use mine more as a filter or feedback device. I hate the wacka, wacka, wacka thing. :D

Try a ton of them.

I use the CryBaby and I have an old 70's Nu Wa. The latter has a greater range but it's more noisy than the CB, just the on switch itself goes Clack!.
