you will be there for 1 year, on the way to the island you can stop at the guitar store with budget of $1500 USD to get whatever gear you want, guitar , amps, strings, pedals, cords, etc ......because you can't take anything you already own (you can buy what you have if you wish and it's in your budget), there is electricity on the island, only rule is you can only take one guitar and it must be electric.

What ya gonna buy????????????

Is there some kind of guitar that will open cans, start fires, and provide shelter from storms?

That's the one I would get.

I want the guitar that generates electricity and doubles as toilet paper!

hmmmm.....Well, I'll go for broke and sacrifice everything else to buy the SRV signature and since I'm only gonna be on this island for a year, I'll play it dead for a year until I get back, you know, just to keep my calluses going.

But it will still come in useful even though I won't be able to play it. Here are a few things I should be able to use it for.

Use it for:

1. Fighting off natives

2. Bustin' open coconuts

3. Learning how to surf

4. Letting the high E string hang off the neck for fishing

5. I'll use it to paddle my dugout canoe

6. Use the tremolo arm to skewer meat and hold it over the fire to cook

7. After one of the strings break, I'll make a necklace out of it and give it to the head native chief as a peace offering.

8. Give the chief another string for the use of his brothel hut. (darn, only three strings left. Oh well, to hell with the calluses, a man has to do what a man has to do.

9. Use it to try and flag down planes and ships and such. (wait a minute, is this cheating?)

10. Use it for a shovel to search for pirates buried treasure.

11. Carry it over my shoulder to give my pet parrot somewhere to perch.

When I get back, I'll have a well relic'd SRV signature. I'll write a book titled "101 ways a stratocaster can be useful for survival".

This should be an interesting trip.

I'd probably bring a cheap acoustic, since there's no electricity, and spend the rest of the money on food and a tent.

There is electricity.

I opted not to worry about it though. My luck, the island that I would be put on would be like a rain forest and I would end up electricuting myself, hehe.

Well, if there's electricity, I'd bring a Squire strat and a laptop to plug it into so I can still jam and be creative.
