I'm very surprised that no one has brought up Fender's incredible price hike. Imagine my disgust when I logged into musiciansfriend this weekend to buy a 72 tele deluxe(2 humbuckers), only to find that it costs NINE HUNDERED DOLLARS, for a MIM?
but it didn't end there, further searches revealed that the standards(thats the most basic models) are Five hundred dollars.
Fender has always been my favorite guitar company, nay, my favorite American company. Leo's drive and imagination brought musical instruments to people of all status, with affordable and quality guitars.
Now fender offers 100-200$ rebates for AMERICAN models(which by the way cost as much as gibsons now) I guess they think that makes up for having their entire stock cost 20-40% more.
I'll probably only be buying used fenders now, or changing brands all together, I hear Rondomusic.com has incredible prices on similar instruments.
Let me know what everyone else thinks!

We've had these "evil Fender, they had to raise their prices" threads non stop for about six months now. If you've got such a major problem with it, buy used. If anything we should be happy that our Fender instruments have increased in value. Man, I'm sick of these threads.

I don't know if anyone has ever brought it up, but Fender has added a guitar called the Stratocaster to its lineup, which includes the Esquire and the Telecaster. I just thought I'd keep everyone up to date.
