do you guys think there are more fender/strat or gibson/lp players. and i kno this is a fender forum so i don't mean which one you like

the gibsons/lp seem more popular like in the uk and everything but i'm not sure here.

i personally like the strat sound but the lp imo are nicer looking. i'd rather have a strat though. sound comes first and in the right color and model the strats come pretty close

Isn't that kinda like going into a church and asking "How many believe in God and how many are atheist?"

There are many fine guitars, but make mine a Stratocaster. 8)

I think the strat wins it. Everybody plays one.

The Strat has been in production nonstop since it was first released to the market in the 50's. You can't say the same about the LP Standard.

I have been to a lot of concerts and I think I have seen a lot more Strats than I have seen LPs. The LP is popular but I think Fender has the edge slightly.

You see a lot of Gibsons in the UK. A lot of Teles though too and certainly fender basses are the most popular.

Certain music lends itself to a Les Paul. Certain music to a Strat or Tele. I can't see Derek Trucks playing a strat or John Mayer playing a LP.

I'm a strat man, even have a strat tattoo that takes up most of my forearm. Love em......but sometimes I just wanna pick up an LP and play a screamin hunk o'mahogany. LP's are great guitars and certainly have their place. I'm fairly sure I'll always own one.

I think the Strat is number one, Les Paul on two and Tele third.
Gibson ES 335 is also popular.
Fender bass guitars are number one. This is not my list, but players all
over the world would vote in this order, is my firm belief.

i own and regularly play both i find myself setting a higher standard for playing with my stat (in practice) and i can get a little looser on the les also i think we all agree the two most masterful electric guitar players played strats so for most maybe the bar is to high the strat may intimadate up and commers

Not sure what you're getting at here. Obviously, I'm a Strat guy, but I've noticed quite a few alt rockers playing LPs on MTV/VH1. Are you hinting that maybe the pendulum is swinging the other way?
