Well I have discovered that the web cam I used does not do my Hot Rod Deluxe any justice, and trying to use dynamics just sounds like Solid State Clean Breakup! Which is bad  But I will be buying some decent recording equipment in the future and post some more videos when I get the chance

Here is the link:

There are three videos: "12 Bar Blues", "12 Bar Blues 2" and my "Original Melody"

Just scroll down the "More from Strat0Blues". :D

Even for a low quality cam and sound, it sounds good 8)

Even for the low quality, they were very enjoyable. I only wish you would've showed both your picking hand and your fretting hand for the 12 bar blues.
Now, do over and show both. Thanks.

All right, thanks for the comments :D

It is good to get feedback as I have never posted videos before.

As for the video, I did realise that my right hand was not visible afterwards and thought that would be an idea. I will also try and work out how to have two images at the same time, one just the right hand and the other shot on the left hand.

Long story short: I had to return my friends guitar and I have to sell my Hot Rod Deluxe to pay off my HSS Stratocaster I have waiting at the shop.
So it may be a few weeks before I can post again before I own a guitar and an amplifier otherwise I would try to perfect these vids.

So as soon as I get that sorted I will post some more vids and try to have have the webcam on the right and left hand 8)

You don't even have to have two shots at once. Just have the camera out far enough where we could have seen both your hands.

Ok, I'm not trying to be snide, but in the 12 bar blues 1, he just doing a simple bass line 'walk down' E, which he does well.

There is a video lesson that takes the same concept even a more further http://tinyurl.com/mzz8vp.

I know it was a real easy line, but I'm just learning. Chords are real easy, just look in a book. But the difficult thing for me is the strum(pick)/chord process. (guess The Bunny is teaching me how to play).

Thanks for that clip, that was interesting. I don't do fingers yet though, just the pick at the moment.

I kind of figured that from your post, we all started at the beginning. I wish that Fender would consider re-doing the Fender Players Club, I thought it was great resource for players.

You know that Greg Koch has several instructional DVD, this is a good one http://tinyurl.com/l8drot.

Also Andy Aledort has some very good instructional DVDs http://tinyurl.com/m6demd.

Plus, go to blues jams and concerts and watch the best players, and ask them questions, plus practice at least an hour a day :) .

Here is the link to that E walkdown in the "12 Bar Blues"

http://www.dolphinstreet.com/guitar_vid ... son-80.php

It is the "Texas Blues Shuffle" lesson, the whole riff uses constant alternate picking. In the video I posted I would have liked to have more of a galloping rythym, which would make it sound even more bluesy.

In this video lesson, the guy playing goes back to open E at 40 seconds, I believe it should go back to open A first, and then open E because it sounds correct to me anyway. If you hear the video I posted and than this one, you will know what I mean but it will be up to you to decide what sounds better really.

thouston

Thanks for the link, that is the kind of Blues playing I would like to learn. I have been playing for 6 months and I am started to improvise on some of the blues basics but with more practice hopefully I will be able to play more advanced blues. I just love the way blues music sounds and enjoy playing the rythyms to make that sound.
