When I go to my brothers it is like I can go back in time as his middle floor is all his vinyl its like a record store. I pull out an album put it on and get that rush that takes me back to a great time. Music is so powerful as certain songs remind you of certain points in your life the good and the bad. I just wish someone will appear and save us all. I have to believe that there is good music being made out there but the powers that be are more concerned over looks and image that they dont get behind these kids and we are left with American Idol which produces people who can sing but become puppets who are told what they can sing which changes nothing.

Not sure if vinyl is making a comeback or if it's just a fad, but here are some stats regarding sales of vinyl LPs from the RIAA:

Sales of LPs bottomed out in 2006 (I would have thought it was long before '06) at about 900,000 units. In '07 sales rose to 1.3 million units and last year, sales more than doubled to 2.9 million units.

If you like Jazz and/or Blues, you can still get LPs from Blind Pig, Delmark, Bob Koester's Jazz Record Mart, and Fat Possum among others.

I love modern music, and I know I can't sway opinions much here, so I'm gonna suggest a modern-reggea band I think you all may like: The Aggrolites. Please give them a look at. I hope it puts some faith back into your perseption of modern music.
