Okay, I just got done watching Eric Clapton perform in Chicago. I was really blown away, and to be honest, completely inspired to become a better guitarist.

I now have incentive to learn more music theory!!!

I would like to see him more, and plan to, actually.

That's nice, I wish I could go. He's coming here to Houston next week and the nose bleed seats cost $75 a pop. I can't afford that right now. If he came in August I could swing it, but no, he's just got to come this month. :( A local radio station is giving away tickets, so being caller 7 is my only chance of going.
This morning I actually got through... too late.

How often does Clapton tour America? I only just started paying attention to him a few months ago.

Steve Winwood was fantastic, actually. He sang the first song, and it was this huge, ballsy blues tune. He killed it. Probably my favorite song, but I liked them all so much, it's too hard to really say.

I am actually trying to figure out how to explain to people HOW Eric Clapton is such a master, so if you or anyone can put to words how he is a master and how he is influential, it would be appreciated.

Yeah, our tickets admission was 75, but ended up paying 300 since we were late. :/ Not happy about that. But it's worrrrthhh iiiiiiittttt. :-]

You lucky SOB. I was planning to go see him in either St Paul or Omaha but too many things made it impossible for me to do.

Oh man!

...Honestly, I'd pay $300 too though. If only I didn't have to save for Austin, then I could possibly go. I plan on buying the DVD, so I won't be totally completely missing out. :)

A lot of it comes from many, many years of playing in many different situations from acoustic to power trios and everything in between. Every time that you jam or play with other good players, you usually find something new to work on to diversify your style of playing.

Yeah, they played over 2 hours. The last song was Voodoo Chile, and was really awesome.

It was really orderly as well, which I somewhat expected but also somewhat didn't.

But thanks guys, it really was sweet.

go to bestbuy.com and check out the Clapton Winwood DVD or CD, songs should be shown on the site, I believe that's what they're currently playing give or take a few.....
