Hey, for those of you who have purchased a guitar from M/F I'd like to know about your experience? Did they deliver a quality guitar? Was the guitar in good shape, any dings, scratches, broken, etc? Did they deliver it on time?

I'm contemplating buying a Fender Highway One Strat through there and before I do that I want to get your impressions.

Thanks,

Fen52

I have purchased 2 guitars from MF. They were delivered on time and were well packed. There were no problems (scratches, dings, dents, etc.) with them. I did check them over very carefully and both needed a setup.

On the other hand I have heard from some of my friends horror stories of guitars arriving with warped necks, broken parts, and many scratches and dings. MF did take those back, so that was the good thing.

It is a crap shoot every time you order a guitar off of the internet. Make sure you buy from a company that will take returns if something is wrong.

I've been using MF for the last 5 years and have bought 6 guitars from them and an amp head and cab. Not to mention pots, switches, strings, straps, pedals, etc., etc. etc.. I have never had a problem with them messing up an order, losing an order, or receiving damaged goods. Guitars come double boxed too, and I ordered both electric and accoustic guitars from them. I can give this company the highest marks with no problems.

i would recommend buying from a physical store. that way you can actually see and play the guitar you're going to buy.
unless there are no guitar stores near you, then go ahead and buy online.

I don't have a local guitar store and since I started playing I learned to set up and work on my own guitars, in other words be my own tech. As long as a guitar has no manufacturing flaws, I can set it up how I like it. MF also has a great return policy should not like something you order.

Everything I've ordered from MF has worked out fine. I ordred three guitars, an amp, stands and such over the past six months and they've all arrived in perfect condition. I like their web site and the ability to read customer reviews.

i guess i'm kinda spoiled living in LA. i'm within reasonable driving distance of literally hundreds of guitar stores.

I bought a Jackson SL2H from MF back in 96 and had a terrible experience with the guitar. The wiring was lousy and the nut needed moved because the high e would pull off of the fretboard very very easily. Luckily I had a friend that was more than happy to do the repairs for me so I didn't bother to send the guitar back.

I've since bought a couple of MXL 990 mics from them but I would never ever buy another expensive guitar/amp from them, unless the guitar was exclusive to them. I'll gladly pay a little more at a mom and pop.

They have a good return policy if the guitar does not work for you, so go for it.
