I think it's about time Fender did another series with Matching paint on the headstocks. I always loved that look. Maybe a Daphne blue, and Candy apple green.

What colors would you like to see matched on the headstock?

There is an eBay seller listing new 2009 Am Std Strats as a special edition with painted headstocks in three colors. (One is Daphne Blue, I believe.) I guess this is a special edition done for a specific dealer. I don't have the eBay link handy but if you do an eBay search for Fender Strat painted headstock, I think that will get you there...

I'd like to see the painted headstock available again, Candy Apple Red, please....

I like a nice, matched headstock. I wouldn't buy a guitar over another guitar based on that feature, but it would be a nice bonus.

Gibson gets a lot of negative attention for their Eye Guitar, but the red headstock is nice.

There are a couple of production models with matched headstocks: the Aerodyne and XII 12-string Strats, the Custom Tele FMT, the JA-90...

At first I was thinking I didn't care. But then I saw Texasguitarslinger's post, and that headstock looks awesome with the guitar. Especially with the rosewood fretboard.

They are pretty when the cuffs and collar match, as James Bond sort of said, once.

Oldguy is right as I saw that on the bay and it is the one Tex put up. Yes indeed it looks smoking to me and gives the ax a whole new vibe with such a liitle change .I would love that on a tele that is black like the John 5 which I think is a great looking guitar but that head stock kills it for me.

I don't really care for painted headstocks, it only looks good to the person in front of you, not when looking down at the headstock

Candy Apple Red with Maple Board

Ice Blue Metallic with Maple Board

Teal Green Metallic with Maple Board

I think it would be neat, but definately in limited numbers. Don't do too many or it isn't "special" anymore. (kind of like pinch harmonics in a solo) :D

you know what i was thinking.... on musiciansfriend.com it lists them as the 2009 limited editions, so maybe next year they'll do a 2010 limited run...etc. maybe? each year have 3 new colors.

if i were ceo of fender i wouldnt do mass series of strats, just 200 or so then wait till the next year. that way maybe in 10 years those guitars will go up in value, so the 1300 you spend this year will be worth 4000 later. (highly doubt it) maybe do a consumer survey as to which 3 colors are produced next... like a game.. m&ms did that a few years ago with their m&ms minis. lol

btw, i heard they only released 200 limited teles/strats, idk if thats true or if its 200 each color or what.

I actually do like certain painted headstocks. The red one looks a little odd to me, but I did like the green and blue ones.

The Squier mutt I put together looks pretty sick. Not a fender neck, but I'll work on that when I have some cash. My digital camera broke, so I can't post pics right now, but it really looks awesome. Tobacco Sunburst, one hum, black pickguard, black hardware, rosewood neck, black headstock. Freaking wicked!! Anyone know if a Jag neck will fit on a Squier body? I saw one on ebay that was crimson-burst that I loved, but it didn't show specs of the heel width.
