How friendly the Fender brotherhood (sisterhood) is? Anytime I've posted a question or comment on the Fender Forum I've gotten a whole host of responses and opinions. But, people have always been helpful.

I asked a question on the Gibson Forum and was scolded for using too many abbreviation; EE for Education Edition (in the title BTW), CL for Craigs list, and thx for Thanks. Two of the readers were irritated by my use of the abbreviations.

Are they just angry because they don't have Fenders?

No, they're just miffed that they paid too much for their axes, and like to take it out on the world.

I can't say that because the Gibson's I have bought and played are worth the cost. Just as most Fenders are. Many don't look at the fact to make a set neck guitar takes more time and work then it does to make a bolt together guitar. Gibson are not as Modular as Fenders. That said I like them both and others as well. The best playing Les Paul that I have is a Epi. LP Custom Plus that only cost me 799. a few years back one of the few made with a Maple set neck a few years ago before going back to Mahogany for the LP Cus. Plus. Also I gave my Son a ES335 that set me back a few G's thats amazing to play. I just can't dis either brand

I am a member of 5 forums and none can compare to this one.The hour and a half I spend on the web is mainly here.I am just comfortable talking Fender as that is mainly what I know, plus the pace and the topics are great as well as you guys out there.I have only been to the Gibson forum once and since I dont own a gibson it did not hold my interest, you can hear crickets chirping on the Peavey forum lol.Guitars 101 and the Harmony Central forum are good though. But like Dorothy said theres no place like home.

Hi cvilleira: a big +1 on that. And the carved top as well as all that binding (mostly done by hand) adds a lot to the man hours in each guitar. Anyone who wonders why a Gibson costs more needs to try their hand at binding a body or neck. They'll soon find out where the money goes!

Anyhow: jmr986, this is a nice friendly place, isn't it? Lotta good people round here - that's the main thing, huh?

Cheers - C
