How cool is this:

Today, President Obama hosted a town-hall meeting in Green Bay, Wisconsin to sell his ideas on health-care reform. During the Q&A portion, the president and father of two also wrote a note excusing one 10-year-old audience member from school.

Before asking the president a question, John Corpus told Obama that his 10-year-old daughter was "missing her last day of school."

"Oh no! Do you need me to write a note?" asked the president, who began walking back to the podium. Obama then took a pen out of his jacket, saying "Go ahead. I'll start writing." When the president asked for her name, Mr. Corpus gave his own again, "No. HER," said the president, to much laughter.

Then in a feat of multi-tasking, Obama held onto the microphone while writing a note and listening to Mr. Corpus' long-winded question. He then began answering the question, while walking off the stage and into the audience to hand the note to Mr. Corpus' daughter, Kennedy.

What did the now most-famous school excuse say?

"To Kennedy’s teacher - Please excuse Kennedy’s absence. She’s with me. (signed) Barack Obama."

Not a bad reward for skipping school.

I am glad that now he fixed the economy the Goverment has the money to fix health care. Maybe we will get lucky and it will work as well as Social Security, medicade and medicare.
I sorry I just think priorty needs to be getting people back to work not more programs that we can't afford. But then again since the U.S will own 65% of GM we could use the profit from that. Plus since we are raising CAFE standards on auto manufacture at a time like this helps RIGHT!!!!!!

Sorry for ranting I have seen nothing that the majority of econimst agree will work done. Most say the GM deal will fail like it did in the U.K. with auto manufacturing. Most say its the wrong time to change CAFE laws. The goverment owning banks and morgatges I guess the IRS types will be doing the forclosers on people, Right we no that will happen when pigs fly.

Welcome to the U.S.S A.

I guess soon the Goverment will assign you a job.

Well i like the fact that Obama is a caring guy. I think its a bit sad that he doesnt or didnt know how many states your country has. If he wants to fix the economy all he has to do (being such a common man kind of fella) is give the money he's using to bail out business to the public. Divide it equally among the voters and watch public spending and prosperity grow.
I say the same for our sad excuse of a goverment.

Why give to those who cursed us (the banking/finance world), its stupid. The whole house of cards fell primarily because the gap between rich and poor became too great. Something no capitalist wants to see publicly recognised. As an outsider to your nation all i really see in the running for goverment is capitalists who dont hide the fact and capitalists who pretend to care. A very simplistic view that doesnt take mood or precedent into account. Please excuse that, imean no offence just stating my view on my and your goverment.

You no it he has not stopped campaning yet. The Goverment can't run anything in a economcal way. GM will be a bottomless pit for money.I don't see any companies talking of increasing staff only goverment jobs being added. Imagine how many goverment jobs will be added if they do Health Care for the Country it will be like another Social Security Administration, HCFA run wild ( Health Care financing Administation) will grow and grow and where does the money come from?

The guy is a Socialist and thats what many want because they can control the people more that way by creating dependency on the Goverment through programs.
There are so many Families having hard times right now it has opened the door for these things and not thinking of the cost 40 years from now.
Private business is what can creates jobs but you have to give the people running them the tools and insentive to do so. Let them have a company full of employees making them money but taking home pay checks in doing so. Sure one will be making a lot but hundreds of others could be making a living doing it for them.

Goveremnt starts controling jobs look out U.S.S.A. here we come!

oh man you dont want national health care. We the pioneers of that system, have more managers of the system than beds. Thats why we have tax paying (and thereby health care paying) people dying queuing up in corridors waiting to be seen by a quack who failed medical school and works as a GP.

I didn't mean to get involved in a conversation that has strongly political in nature. I just thought it was pretty cool that he did what he did. I find it refreshing for the President to be as accessible as he is. I don't agree or disagree with any policies especially on this forum, which is music related. I think that is what can be best cause no one will ever change anyones opinions. Let's argue Fender and Gibson...it just makes more sense

Thats Obama's way of creating jobs, goverment jobs.

Worry about where the money comes from latter!

I think you have a very good point. When you put up with it, you have it to deal with. Bigger government means smaller you.
People lose a little freedom every day not so you would notice, just enough to keep under the radar. Laws are passed while you sleep to justify the existence of fatcat lawmakers. Then one day you wake up and its against the law to fart in a public place. An opressed people is not a happy people. Wave a paycheck under everyones nose an you can do what ever you want ...and its ok?? Well, back to playing guitar while I'm still allowed.
Sorry for the rant

This was not meant to start a big political discussion, this was meant to point out a cool thing that happened with a little girl.
