I caught a gig by K T Tunstall last summer. Not really a soloist, but she delivered a rockin' show and is a neat songwriter:

LOVE that silver flake Gretsch in the first pic, by the way!

Good call. She's cute as a bug, and her band is super-ultra-mega tight.

I have a sneaking suspicion her guitarist, Sam Lewis, posted a photo of his practice room on this very Forum a few months ago, without revealing who he was. But I've been round and round trying to relocate that thread to compare it with a picture I recently saw in a guitar magazine - without success.

...D'oh!

Cheers - C

You know, I mentioned him as a good example of an ensemble player in that silly "are guitar solos dead?" (or wahtever it was called) thread a while back. I admire that whole band a lot.... if he was secretly on the forum, I hope he saw it. :)

EDITED TO ADD:

Yes, the thread was called "how come nobody plays guitar solos anymore?" and this is a quote from that:

"It reminds me of seeing a KT Tunstall live in HD on Palladia last night, and her guitar player Sam Lewis, who oozes talent... but held it in check so as to not overshadow KT or the song. Then, when he DID flash what he had at you, it blew through the band like a lightning bolt. Now, THAT'S a musician. You can keep all the guitar "heros" there ever were. I really prefer guitar players.... musicians who just happened to choose guitar."

Oh, and just to stay on topic.... I was shooting from the hip when I mentioned Bonnie (although she is crazy hot). But my one true love is the perfectly lovely Joyce Cooling, who plays as pretty as she looks, with chops that would let her hand with Larry Carlton and Robben Ford..

There's a band called The Veronicas that has a pretty one, but I always liked Allison from The Donnas :
