I got my tickets today for the November 6th, 2009 show in Rutland, Vermont. Anyone else going? Anyone ever been to one of his shows? I got interested in the group after an article about him in Guitar Player magazine. Should be a great night! 8)

If you're looking for a show you're wasting your money and your time. The only show is the lights changing color. It would be just like going to see the Allman Brothers Band (his namesake). But, if you're wanting to witness some serious guitar prowess, you're in for a treat.

I saw his HDNet special a few nights ago. I was very impressed. It's great to see such a dedicated SG player (sorry, I love my SG, too).

Hi Fenderseeker09: never seen him live yet. LOVE his guitar playing on CD, not so hooked on some of the material he and his band play.

I bet it's just the kind of thing that would totally great live, though. Especially if the venue is not too big: I kinda think it's close-up guitar playing, if you know what I mean.

Hi, wilburcook: if you happen to look at this thread again, just wondering how things are going with your brother. People round here are wishing him and you well...

Cheers - C

If you want a sense of his stage presence, check out YouTube. As Ceri suggests, its more for the player than the entertainer. If his wife is along, you'll be in for a great two-fer....if she plays.

I was thinking much the same way about the performance. He is an awesome guitarist. His wife is actually coming up this month here.

I have a guest track of Susan's on a 'Double Trouble' solo CD, doing a version of Zeps' "Rock and Roll" with KWS on second guitar that is a veritable storm. She's the emotion her honey lacks.

Hi again: there's some here that have been through similar things to where you are at this moment. It probably doesn't help much to know that people you've never met from far away are rooting for you and your brother right now - but maybe it helps a tiny bit. We're on your side.

Again, I wish you both strength.

Good luck - C

(PS Apologies for the off-topic, but I'm sure everyone understands...)
