They are pretty cool looking aren't they?

Yeah, I have to give them a try sometime, don't know when it will happen, consider it a bit of a overkill to order picks from half way around the globe

You order other gear from around the world? Why not your picks too?
Of course they are sold closer to you too.

As per Chet's recommendation I switched to The Vin man's picks last summer. I dig the bite, thanks Chet. 8)

WOW! 5 – 10 bucks for a pick?
I wear out picks fast. I usually get only about a month of playing out of a Fender medium Celluloid pick. I can get 12 of them for $3.95 so it works out, that’s a year or better of playing for under 4 bucks.

Chet or someone help me out here. How do these things really wear? They look thick like they would hold up for a long time.

I meant to shoot Vinni a message on Face book the other day but to be honest I plain forgot about and then I saw this thread. I figured there were possibly multiple V-pick users in here and I could get a few different opinions on the subject.

So give me the skinny folks are things going to save me some money by lasting a while?

I realize there handmade and that increases the $$ a bit, and I don’t mind paying a bit more to help out my tone and what not, I just don’t want to shell out cash for something I’m gonna’ round off in 2 months of playing!
Thanks
William

The difference in tone is definetly there! The picks I ordered (mostly medium to heavy) appear as though they will easily endure several months of abusive play! (I can easily see the ruby lasting a 10-12 months). But, I have only had them about 2 weeks, so this is pure conjecture. I would dare say its worth a $20 investment to get a few just for trials sake.

Thanks all thumbs… I agree! I think It might be worth a few bucks to give them a try.

I have been doing a lot of finger picking lately because I love the Meaty tone I am getting with it. Problem is if I need to play a quick run I just cant do it without a pick.. these look like they got some meat to them and may give me a similar tone as I get with my finger.

I am gonna’ hit up http://www.v-picks.com/ tomorrow and order me Pointed Diamond, Snake, and a Large Rounded…

I just hope I get some mileage out of these things…..We will see….

Thanks

Chet’s Seal of approval is good enough for me. I’ll go with the Dimension un buff in place of the snake… I like to have both but the Mrs. Is givin’ me crap about 10 bucks a piece for picks and I want to keep the naggin’ to a minimum as it interrupts my guitar playing time…LOL
Cheers
Bill

Once you get them and get over the initial shock of their size you will never look at another pick again........
