Just got my fantastic email to tell me about the Woodstock guitar contest...but oh wait...it's only in the US.

Hey Fender folks, how about opening some contests to the other 95%(may not be an accurate number as I pulled it out of my $@!) of the world population????

I just got the same e-mail... I entered, but don't worry. I won't win... Right now, I'm entered in about 4 guitar contests. I wasn't going to enter, but the Strat is pretty nice. I'm guessing it's a MIM... still a nice prize.

You're right... Fender should have a seperate contest for the rest of the players around the world who buy their instruments at an even higher inflated price then we in the states do...

But, as I said... I won't win. I'm 56 years old and I've never won anything.

Folks, people do win these contests - I won the Grand Prize last July - a nice new VGStrat - my choice of color.

And Fender does open some of these contests to everyone - in the one where I won my VGStrat, Ceri won 3rd prize and he lives in the UK.

So, everyone that can enter should enter -- you might be the lucky one. I enter all of the contests I can - who knows, maybe I can be lucky again

I never expected to win last year.

Ditto. I won my Fender Deluxe VM amp here a few months ago. Haven't played a single gig without it since. :D

YES - that's right! :D

However, I believe Brad made that happen off his own bat. He also made it so's those of us outside the US didn't have to pay postage on our Lounge Tees, too, which was more than generous.

We have a lot to thank that gentleman for!

In the past we've been told why most of the competitions aren't open to those outside the country of origin. Apparently, law deals with competitions in different ways in different countries and it is just too complicated to make the thing legally compliant the world over.

Tiresome, but not really Fender's fault.

However, Europe is all one entity, legally speaking. 400 million people would be glad if Fender Europe could cook up some competitions once in a while. (Hint, hint...)

Cheers - C
