Hey guys, I wanted to know what you all recommend as far as a book or
other, to learn lead guitar. I've been playing acoustic rhythm for like 7 years, and NEVER even tried to learn scales, modes, or leads (I know stupid). I bought Fretboard logic I & II, understood it, BUT didn't understand how to put it into practice. I really want to learn how to make up solos, riffs, and lead improv on songs. I'm into the Clapton, SRV, John Mayer type of stuff. Not really interested in shredding you know. Thanks in advance

go to chordbook.com It will contain scales (pentatonic should be your first) jam loops to jam with, all sorts of goodies. Also another good site to obtain a book related to the kind of style your interested in is bluesyoucanuse.com The first book is outstanding. Starts out real basic and as you learn at your own pace, it will go to an advanced level. YMMV 8) Mike

Blues Guitar for Dummies. You'd dig it, and it comes with a CD. :D

Thanks a lot guys. Well I bought Musician's Institute Blues/Rock Soloing for Guitar (Book/CD). It was recommended by the guy who sold me my Strat. I'll give that a go, as well as the sites y'all told me about. I'm also going to go look for the books also mentioned. Thanks so much guys!!!
