Booker T of 'Booker T and the MG' has a new CD out 'Potato Hole' http://www.bookert.com/. It features Neil Young on guitar and members of the Drive-By Truckers.

'Potato Hole' defies description, it rocks, it funks, it get groovie, I just love it. The break out song is the cover of OutKast's "Hey Ya", what a fun groove. You can hear it on NPR http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=104820374.

I really need to get that one, as soon as I can. Heard a bit of it, during an NPR interview on Indy 500 day. As with anything else I've heard from Booker T., be it with The MG's or otherwise...ssssssSSSSSMOKIN'!

Yeah, I'm really enjoying! I know Steve Cropper and I still feel that this album is really great.

Wow, in the liner notes it reads that Booker T plays guitar on a couple of songs. He also plays bass and a few more instruments.

I must have listened to this CD at least twenty times :!: On 'Get Behind The Mule' Booker T 'channels' Howling Wolf's vocal. 'Get Behind The Mule' medley is based on Wolf's 'She's the Problem of It All'.

I'm on it. 8)

"It's fitting that Patterson Hood, son of Muscle Shoals bassist David Hood, should record with his dad's Southern-soul peer, 64-year-old Stax-session kingpin Booker T. Jones. Add Neil Young and Hood's bandmates in Drive-By Truckers, and what might've been a generic awards-show jam turns out to be a badass set of MG's-style instrumentals."
