Yes! You'd need a full set up. If you're unsure of how to do it yourself, take it to a guitar store that does repairs, they should be able to do it for you. Don't mess with the truss rod unless you know what you're doing, just trust me on that.

I do not think you will need to "change" your truss rod, but you will need to do a complete set-up/intonation to ensure proper tunning down the neck. This may require an adjustment to the truss rod. You can try this yourself; however,I recommend buying a good book on the process before trying it for the first time or you may want to even search the Gibson website for instructions on how to properly do this. I know Fender has it posted for their guitars. If you already have a lot of guitar smarts, well you know what you are doing.

Just remember if you do not know what you are doing, you may warp the neck or worse. Good luck.

Though I think this is a BC Rich Mockingbird, is it; not a Gibson Hummingbird?

If so, then as well as the trussrod the intonation will need to be completely reset when changing string gauges. Different sized strings have different "speaking" lengths.

Assuming it isn't the Gibson, that is. Intonation is much more of a pain to change on an acoustic!

Cheers - C

Wow totally misread the name. Sorry. I need my eyes examined. Here is the BC Rich page...but not much help.
