Yup, half the cost of a brand spanking new American Standard went poof-gone-bye bye yesterday on the way home from work.

Water pump on the Jeep commited noisy, messy suicide.

Bummer, but gratefully it was drivable to a local Firestone who fixed it in 3 1/2 hours.

For half the cost of a new American Standard.

Sorry to here of your misfortune but think of it this way. At least you won't have to walk everywhere. You'll have it saved back up before you know it.

I feel for you JSJH. Same thing happened to me right before Christmas except it was a $1300.00 clutch. Could have bought a Deluxe back then for that amount.

yep, my guitar funds are drained thanks to my jeep. i just bought mine though, hopefully i dont have to put much money into it

Sorry to hear about your loss. At least it wasn't worse. I one had the funds saved for a new guitar and on the way there I got creamed by another driver. The deductable on my insurance was $20 more than the guitar I was going to buy. The other person did not have any insurance at all.

Man $500 for a waterpump. Did it do the cambelt and a couple of valves when it went?

Last time i had a water pump go (5 years ago on a vauxhall omega http://www.desperateseller.co.uk/findacar/used-cars/used-Vauxhall-cars-for-sale.asp?orderID=17349020&vendor=116461 It cost me £60 for the pump £50 for the new belts and a saturday morning.
