Tommy i cant deal with reading crap on another forum so please give me a BRIEF overview of what its about. From the 2 posts i read i suspect its about low end intonation issues. If thats the case i can help you out mate, i've been quite deep into it as an amateur.

Your more than welcome here anyway mate. More the merrier i say. As long as the goons trying to cause arguments between the fender and gibson sites are kept out. The gibbo forums good i'm not derriding it at all. Just dont want the stupid trouble causing posts.

Don't go there any more, simply hang out with us here.

Just PLEASE don't announce to the churlish trolls over there that you are hanging out here. As you know, we are a high class group (which includes you too, of course) and don't need any of that.

Ok i struggled through that thread. The Grammar is bad everywhere.

On low fret intonation, if thats what i think is allured to. It is important and a common failing from all traditional builders (fender included). That said compensated nuts cant just be constructed through measuring offsets. String height at that point is of paramount importance, prior to measuring offset needed. Bass strings on guitars as well as basses need less offset but do need some shaping to aquire perfect pitch on the first 4/5 frets. Saddle intonation deals with all else and low frets to a lesser degree. Were talking semantics here. Its not like were tuning piano's. When you get a guitar that just wont play intune at the low end though, nut compensation is a good mod.

Tom thats my sincere take on it mate. Its also the way i treat my own guitars, to the point of making my own nuts.

CV! You always come up with the greatest pics! I salute you my friend!

Tommy! I have never met a more helpful bunch of people that right here at the Fender Lounge! These guys are the best! Anywhere else and I just get disappointed!

Hang in there brother!

I second that. I've been enjoying cvilleira's pics for a long time.

And while we're at it, I enjoy your Sig vids too, Bill. I've giggled over that guy flipping over his orange ball more times than I should have, this afternoon!

To the OP: Tommy, you've been round here long enough to know that this is where the cool guys hang out - like the two gentlemen just named. Stick around - where the air is rarified... (Who said that?)

Cheers - C
