I would like to find recording equipment for use with a computer, probably a laptop. Everything I find is over $90. Is there anything you can suggest that's a little cheaper like maybe around 50 bucks?

I'm just looking for something simple. I'm just tired of putting my headset mic in front of my amp. Doesn't work too well...

Not that I know of. Unless you find an old Tascam 4-track in a pawn shop or on Craigslist or something. There's a bunch of them on ebay. Other than that, for $50 you're looking at a boom box.

If you want to splurge a little more, sometimes you can find an Alesis Multimix in the low $100's. That's what I use. It usually comes with Cubase LE which is 24 tracks. USB into your computer. Plenty of editing and effects features.

cheap radio shack mic into the "mic" input of your laptop. straight into Audacity. You can't get much cheaper than that set up.
