I watched Rick Heins play a Jazzmaster in the '57 Champ® demo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uC_Ebs_8OnA.

I pulled my '66 Jazzmaster and was inspired to create another backing track, loosely based on what Heins played.

I named it Space & Time http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7788213.

It's in Am, around 80bpm, recorded entirely in with my BR-600 using my Jazzmaster, and Squier P-Bass. I don't play bass that often, so if bass player out there want to record a bass line let me know and I'll upload the guitar & drums.

Heins in the demo video? He uses a digital delay pedal with the '57 Champ®.

I created the same tone in my Cyber-Twin, but I couldn't mic my amp because my wife had invited our elderly neighbor over for dinner. But when I was going thru the guitar FXs iny BR-600, I felt that COSM patch #14 'St Flang' sounded good with my Jazzmaster.

Thanks for hittin' it, I really enjoyed your take, it sounds like you had fun :) .

Rigby1027 created what he calls a Vamp http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7803116 backing track, it's in 'A'.

I recorded a version with two guitar tracks 'Vamp Guitar' http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7810499, again with my BR-600 and with two of COSM guitar FXs in my BR-600.

Tony, do you still have the DR-5?

If so, and you find time, how about a doo-wop type backer. Maybe like
G / Em / C / D // ???

Have a great weekend! 8)

Yeah, I still have it, every time I think about selling it, I find a new use for it.

I've been using Reaper http://www.reaper.fm/ with my Edirol UA-4FX http://tinyurl.com/mjs6kn, to gain more experience with PC recording.

The UA-4FX has MIDI In/Out and the DR-5 has MIDI-In, so as soon as I can figure out how to create a MIDI drum map, I could use the DR-5 to record a drum track using the Audio-in on the UA-4FX.

But in the mean time, I've been listening to Prince and I have funk vamp backing track in mind 8)

That will work too. I've been hearing some of Lotus Flow3r and a wide range of great grooves. I like that version of Crimson and Clover with the teaser of Wild Thing in there too. 8)

Wow, I tried arranging the chords and drums on the DR-5, but that was a PITA, so I did it from scratch.

I used my PC to record, so I did use the DR-5's drums, and I used the AmpliTube Fender® modeling software for the guitar & bass. I used my '66 Jazzmaster for the rhythm guitar and one of VibroKing amp models.

I used the TBP-1 bass model head & cab with my Squier P-Bass, I did tweak the settings just a little.

Ok, here it is Mike's Doo http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7823562

I was getting ready for the funk vamp, but since you did this, I'll download it and try a funky doo wop thing. It sounds like you added a bridge too....cool....maybe some others will hit this one :?:

It's a nice, cool, easy one for anyone that records to add their take and don't worry if you've never posted your music online. I guarantee you that you will get some positive comments.

Oh, keep the funk vibe simmering, I was having so much fun with the AmpliTube Fender® modeling software that I finished your song first.

I have the funk vamp just about ready :) .
