I'm feeling better and was really anxious to play guitar, so I weant ahead and recorded the track.

I named it StarMan http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7735038, it's in the key of "G", at 75bpm. I know it sounds PF'ist, but thats the way Mick Taylor sound in the movie.

As most times, I used my my BOSS BR-600, with my '98 Strat. I used '08 Ambient' FX patch with some minor EQ tweaking.

I used my Squier P-Bass and '#89 SquezBas COSM COMP BASS' patch, I also used the BR-600 drums, and added a touch of reverb to them.

You linked up Poot instead of your new track.

I assume your new track is Starman

Wow, I told I was still sick, I fixed it .

With the BR-600 I always 'Import' backing tracks to linked stereo tracks 5/6 V1, each track of the BR-600 has 8 virtual tracks, for some reason, I 'Imported' the bt to track 5/6 V8! At first I could 'find' the tracks.

I didn't have my BR-600 setup, but I always keep my ZOOM H2 nearby for any ideas I get if I just start humming a tune. So, I hummed the bass line into the H2, and took the SD card out of it and imported the hummed song to the BR-600.

I used BR Wave Converter software http://tinyurl.com/lu7cpr instead of the BR-600 USB feature to transfer the tracks, so I must have chose track 5/6 V8.

It's funny to me because out of 200+ songs, I've never done this :? .

I mess up links everyday. The best was when I was trying to link up a vendor site at work and accidentally linked my soundclick page. It was pretty funny. In our accounting system at work there is a lot of copy paste stuff that you can do to save a lot of time and I can't count the times that I have posted random links to websites in that accounting system.

It is kind of funny. I will hit starman tomorrow as I have a couple of briskets on the smoker and have been imbibing. I don't like playing when I have had a few drinks. Actually, I love playing when I have had a few drinks, but if I record I come back and realize that it was terrible. That is one of the downsides to recording. You find out how bad you are.

My wife cleaned two chicken and rubbed down with my super secret dry rub last night. I'll smoke them on the grill in a couple of hours.

I can't believe how still sick I am after two wks.

Ah, I beat Zach, I knew if he posted first, I might not post mine  .

So here's mine http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7738808, again all done in my BR-600. No computer was harmed in this recording :P .

I'm getting the feeling there are more beginning players here, than experienced ones  .

I completely forgot about hitting up Starman. It is a relaxing sounding track so I will give it go tonight.

My super secret rub is so secret that I forget it everytime and have to re invent it. So much for opening a restaurant as consistency is key.

Zach - That was great, as usual. I really dug your approach, I didn't think about playing that way.

You're very creative  .

Well, I guess it's true, this is mainly a gear forum, no one seems interested. I give up on the idea .

Well, this was before I heard Rigby1027 new backing track 'Hot' http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7762700.

It's in 'E', don't know the tempo.

Here's my version with my solo guitar http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7765770.

Zach, another great job :!: 'Hot' is great track, you need to start writing lyrics. What did you use for the drums & bass?

The Reaper http://www.reaper.fm/ developers released a new update, and I created a patch in my BOSS ME-20 http://tinyurl.com/nn6ma2, so recorded another version http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7766135.

Reaper has over 100 FX plug-ins, and it takes time to pick the right one. Once you select setup a FX chain, you can save that chain. My BOSS BR-600 has MTK (Mastering Tool Kit), which you can tweak and save, but Reaper even more MTK controls.

Again, thanks for sharing, I had fun recording.

I used a free drum loop from www.Ryangruss.com and just looped it 45 times. Then I kind of went from there with a maple necked strat, Chili Peppers setting in gearbox and played my SX P-bass knock off. I am not competent in programming drums just yet so I use loops and create a BT off of that. Usually I will start with an idea and then look for a loop that is close to what I want. After I find the loop that I want I tweak the progression to fit that loop.

I really couldn't have been happier with the way this one turned out and have kicked around lyrics with all of my BT's, but I just can't sing to save my life.

I have a drum kit, but can't really play, however, I haven't tried to play in years and I think that I might be able to hack it at this point since I started recording and using click tracks.
