most players here seem to be only interested in gear, but for me it's the music.

I have several original backing tracks on Soundclick, all have have rymthum guitar, bass & drums, you can add lead guitar, or if you want I can leave out the bass, and bass players can a bass line.

So, to get it started here is Hog Mamas http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7512507.

Cool idea. But, not to be sarcastic, how many people have the gear to do this?

Lots of musicians, all you need is a DAW or stand-alone recorder. There are other forums/websites, like Indaba http://www.indabamusic.com/, where you can 'play' with other people.

I'm really surprised that no one around here has suggested this idea!

Tony, your right. A lot of forums I frequent have an entire section where members lay up a track and the rest of the thread is eveyone else's"Take" on the track. I know I don't have the capability but it's my next horizon . 8) Mike

Yes, it will work. What you would do is the use the USB Import option on the DP-004. The songs on Soundclick are in MP3 format, so you must convert them to WAV format. You can use iTunes or the free Audacity Audio software http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ to convert MP3 files to Wav.

Than you would Import the converted Wav file to the DP-004, use two stereo tracks, (since most BT are in stereo), play along with the imported tracks, than when you're ready arm a track and record.

After you'll done mixing, etc, you Export the recorded tracks to your computer, use either iTunes or Audacity to convert the WAV tracks to Mp3 and upload to Sounsclick.

Great. Thanks Tony. I've been looking at buying one to record and critique my practice but I would use it for this too.

The storm passed, I did a quick one take to Mike's track, but I re-named it Movin' On http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7665649.

I'm really surprised at the lack of players, with this being the official Fender site .

I went back and recorded a new lead track, I posted the bt on another site a while ago.

Someone emailed about more track info. First, I was watching this late '60s bikers movie with Peter Fonda (not Easy Rider), and it had a fun retro soundtrack, so I adapted one guitar riff I heard into a song. The key is 'A'.

I tracked both rhythm, lead and bass guitars using my BOSS BR-600 recorder
http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=753&ParentId=110, I also arranged the drums using the BR-600. No computer was used during mixdown, I mixed all the tracks in the BR-600.

I Exported the tracks using the BR-600's USB feature, and used Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ to convert the finished WAV master to MP3 and uploaded to Soundclick.

So, here's my fresh lead to Wild Hogs
http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7667948.

Wow, I really thought there would be participation. Here is chance for guitar players to impress the public, Fender folk, but mainly to have fun :D .

Here's another backing track I created Hard Drivin' Rock http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7322805.

I didn't start playing guitar until I was 22yrs in late '72, but I was already a Hendrix fan, and worked for a 'underground' newspaper. I had interviewed Grand Funk, Joe Walsh, The Flock, and many more greats by the time I started playing guitar, I was a big rock fan.

'Hard Drivin' Rock' is a tribute to my rock heroes. I recorded the rhythm guitar and bass tracks (with my Squire P-Bass) with a BOSS BR-600, I also arranged the drums using the BR-600's drums.
