The 'Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace & Music - Director's Cut' film on three DVDs will be released 9 June 09. I saw a private screening, it looks great!

If you order via Amazon http://tinyurl.com/lf8r67 you get a bonus DVD with additional never-before-seen performance footage from Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Country Joe and the Fish.

Hmmm, I bought the so-called "director's cut" on VHS tape over 10 years ago. I wonder if it's the same footage or something different. One thing you will notice if you watch this film from beginning to end is how few Fender guitars were used compared to what you would see now. (Not counting basses.) It seems most were using Gibsons at that time. Of course the show closer changed that around a bit.

Already preordered this DVD set. Looks awesome. Woodstock is one of those "wish I was there" moments in history. 8)

Yeah, I had that as well, and the DVD, the DVD video transfer was terrible! I have a Blu-ray, and can't wait to see the blu-ray version. But, there is new footage, and a new audio mix.

Fender guitars weren't looked upon as 'rock' guitars. It was Jimi that changed that notion. He sold more Strats than any on the Fender salesmen.

I wonder if The Band will get more play this time. They were, collectively, the man.
I would have gone, back in the day. But now, I cant imagine being that
uncomfortable for that long.

The Band would not permit their recordings to be on the set.
