Danger Mouse ( Gnarls Barkley) and Mark Linkous (also known as Sparklehorse) have teamed together to create music for a new CD, that EMI won't let Danger Mouse release it.

Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse wrote the songs on the album. But they got a bunch of other musicians to sing the tracks, like Iggy Pop, James Mercer of The Shins, Vic Chesnutt and Jason Lytle of Grandaddy.

You can listen to the entire album, with permission from the artist on NPR http://tinyurl.com/qa5n88.

There was an article in the LA Times yesterday also.

They are doing a gallery show along with David Lynch, who is also involved in the project, providing photography.

I saw "Danger Mouse" in your title and thought you were talking about the cartoon. I love the Danger Mouse cartoons.

Apparently Brian Burton (Danger Mouse) was a fan too, that's where he got his stage name.

Right, DM is a huge fan of David Lynch, and asked him to create some images for 'Dark Night of the Soul'. They still plan to release a book of the images with a blank CD http://dnots.com/.

I really like the music, and am a fan of Danger Mouse.

Well done EMI 2 tracks was all it took for me to decide it should never be released. The susan vega one and the singer from the cardigans.

If they really wanted to stick it to EMI they should have made it a free download.

Absolutely serious. I thought it sounded like a bad high school band, on the verge of suicide. IMO.

z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z... Sounds like rejected songs from the soundtrack to Blue Velvet...
