Anyone ever check this magazine out ? Seems like it is a very informative magazine on learning cool stuff and basics.

Lots of Guthrie Govan in it as an instructor.

I'd looked over this one at the news stands for quite a while. Then I finally bought an issue and yeah, its quite good. I'm fairly limited in my ability but I managed to learn a cool blues rhythm lick from it which I use quite a bit now so for me it was worth the price.

Also seems to have some pretty advanced stuff (way over my head) so I'd imagine it would have something for just about everyone.

It seems to have a little for everyone you are right. I am kind of in the middle of most lessons and such

It is an import magazine so it is a little high priced here. I wish it was a little cheaper.

Yeah its about 14 bucks here (as are most european and UK magazines) so I look closely before buying.

I find the CD that comes with it good too as they have a slow and a "full speed" version of the lessons.

There has to be several things in it that I'm interested in before I buy.

I have been buying this mag for 4 years. It is my favorite but being an import it is pricey. But it has so much great stuff for all players but will admit it is more for intermediate to advanced players. They usualy do 3 transcriptions with with full band backing track than backing track without guitar. But the good stuff is the second half called the learning zone where they will do lessons on BLUES,CLASSIC ROCK,SHRED,JAZZ,METAL ,SLIDE They always have 7 or 8 but great stuff hey you cant go wrong with this mag and it beats anything we have here, which is usually half advertisement.I subscribe to just about every magazine and this is my no.1 choice.

I love it, the lessons in other magazines are pretty much useless to me since they don't come with CDs. Plus in Guitar Techniques they focus on a lot of different styles as opposed to a magazine like Guitar Player that seem to rotate the same five people around to write stories about. I'm going to get a subscription to Guitar Techniques this summer, I think it's worth it.

Guitar Techniques has been my favorite guitar magazine for years. It usually has articles and material that cover various skill level and genres, the cds have great backing tracks and slow speed lessons and the guitar instructors are top notch players. The only downside as noted already is the steep price outside the UK.

I like it, I get it every month. The learning zone lessons are really good, something for all tastes, and some of the backing tracks are great just to save and jam along to.

It's a more wide-ranging and mature publication than many of the others.
