Bought a Gibson SG in 1977, kept it a month and traded it and $200 for a brand new Strat.

I didn't buy it but I did play on the GDEC amps for a week or so, off and on, at G.C. and am totally disappointed. At first the idea of the backing tracks built into the amp was cool but the novelty quickly faded. They just sound to computer generated or artificial for my tastes. I would rather play over a cd or dvd of the real thing.

Dunlop Formula 65 cleaner. Me being the alert man that I am aimed the business end towards me and got it in my eye.

I'm sure it's a good product, but I hate it for doing that. :]

Bought a Peavey Vypyr 30 as a bedroom/practice amp. Even ordered the way over priced foot controller. Never played it prior to purchase. Went on name recognition (I use to gig with a Bandit). And hey... it was a practice amp, right? Owned it about a week and a half. No matter how much tweaking I did I couldn't make it stop making me want to vomit. Always sounded like a cheap transistor radio stuffed in a tin can. Canceled the back ordered foot controller and returned the amp. Ended up with an H&K Blue 15 and couldn't be happier.

Also bought one of those "Pocket Rockit" headphone amps. What a piece of junk. The battery cover broke the first time I tried to change the battery, and the 1/4 plug seems to be out of tolerance. Some guitars it plugs into nicely, some it doesn't. Wants to fall out of my MIM Tele and MIA standard Strat. Fits snug in my MIA deluxe Strat, Taylor acoustic, and Epi LP. It's still in a drawer somewhere. Probably never use it again. Ended up scoring a Hot Watt II at a flea market for a fraction of the price. Sure it's heavier, but it has a 9V in and sounds about a billion times better. And being off the guitar you can position it so you can actually SEE its controls.
