I listened to the Moog moogerfooger pedal soundclips on-line. Bought that baby and hate it now.

I bought an Electra Stratocaster copy and regretted it until I finally went out and bought a Fender Strat, unloading the Electra, never looking back.

I was talked into buying a mic that was "just like" a Shure SM-58. Not happy with myself on the purchase either.

The only piece of gear I ever bought based on wild Internet acclaim, without testing it myself first.... I got it, played the crud out of it, swapped the speaker, tried different tubes, matched it up with several pedals, and within a week knew that I was going to get rid of it...

A Fender Blues Junior. I apologize to the many fans of the amp, but this looks to me to be a case of the Emperor's New Clothes: people think it looks right, it smells like it has tubes, so it must sound great. But it doesn't.

I purchased a Digitech Grunge pedal after trying it and many other pedals one fine afternoon. I liked the dirt it had when pluxking lead notes compared to the other pedals and it was down to that and the DS-1. Stupid me took the digitech. After trying it live and through my equipment I despised it. It stripped the tone from my guitars in favor of a harsh mechanical tone that I can not stand.
Well I went back to the store later and purchased the DS-1 and have used it ever since. It was no loss with the other pedal since I earned bonus incentives at work that paid for it.

I bought the Vox AC30 Amplug without trying it out first. I know there are a lot of people here who seem to like it, but I really hate it.

Forty bucks down the drain. :x

Hate

MXR Wylde Overdrive-
Sounds like crap

Boss DS-1 Distortion- Same reason as above

Dislike greatly

DiMarzio YJM instrument cable- I can actually hear a difference between this cable and the Mogami Gold cables. I feel like it steals highs and clarity in comparison.

SCN Tele Pickups- They came stock on my Tele Deluxe and they sounded more like Strat pickups. Since I have strats I wanted something more Tele so I switched to NoCaster p'ups. I already know what the purists will say about that.

Electro-Harmonix Hum Debugger. It just colors your sound way too much.

I bought a BP80 Digitech pedal to add some effects on my bass, thought that might be of benefit since we'd lost our key player.

I hate it, I mean REALLY hate it, it's cumbersome to program, the preset volumes are all over the map, just a clumsy piece of gear.

Anybody want to buy it?

(just kidding, I know you can't sell on here  )

A couple of months back i purchased a Ovation cc157 from Ebay, It looks great but smells like an ash tray and sounds just horrible, Anyway it'll be a trade- in for another future guitar or amp.

I waited a year for Rickenbacker to make me a Left Handed 370/12. Within a week I wished I had never ordered it. To me it was unplayable. The neck is very thin and with 12 strings crammed onto it I couldn't play any clean chords.

My first pedals (Danelectro). I should have known that a $15 pedal wouldn't be any good, but I was just starting out then.

It went to a good home. It was sold to a Lefty who absolutely loved Rick's and at the time owned over 10!!!!

But to wait a year for it and then not like it! A lotta people feeling your pain on that one: kinda puts an unsatisfactory FX pedal into perspective...

Cheers - C

Every post i made about the blues jr condensed into one simple statement. I'm back to using a highgain marshall for clean sounds now. Nothing has made a improvement to its tone, jj low current draw valves, celestion G12 speaker, repositioned the reverb tank to try and cut the noise (its far too close to the speaker, power transformer and valves). Put a trim pot in it to cool the bias, modded the mid pot to allow for zero mids.
What makes it worse is that i bought it on the recommendation of someone i trust. Yes its a MIA one before anyone tries to raise that ridiculous concept.
