Well I've only been to Dropkick Murphys but I had an all access pass so it will be tough to beat

Hopefully Brad Paisley will have what it takes this Saturday

Many of Brad's gear got ruined during the floods in Nashville, but he had his red paisley FENDER Tele at home and it was saved. I'm sure that he'll be sounding good!

Alice Cooper's "Welcome to my Nightmare" tour in 1973 or 74. Can't remember which year but I can remember the show like it was yesterday. Phila Spectrum. Good Times........... yep

Les Paul at the Iridium Jazz Club, 08 and 09.

John Lee Hooker at the Chestnut Caberet. I stood 3 feet away from him the whole set.

Well, I've seen a lot of concerts, and the one that I'm going to say actually suprises me. I saw Jamie Johnson last year and he stayed on stage and played for over 3 hours (closer to 4). I don't even listen to country music much. This guy is a pure musician. After about an hour and a half, he stopped and said "This is where we play whatever the hell we want to play so if some of you want to leave, I'm sure someone else wouldn't mind taking your seat." The crowd went wild.....and nobody got up to leave. They played classic rock, blues, and country music for the rest of the night. It was completely awesome. There was no bullshit in the guy and damn he and his band can really play.

Can't do just one so I'll mention two.

Danny Gatton at the LoneStar Roadhouse, NYC 1991 - best virtuoso performance I've ever seen. Really magical show and got to hang with him for a bit after the show.

Wilco at the Wellmonth Theater in Montclair, NJ - 2010 - great show, did not know much about the band before the show and was totally blown away.

I have seen many unbelievable shows, but the best is ... head and shoulders ...

The Who in 1982 (or so) on the It's Hard tour. This was a stadium tour where certain "select" cities would get also a much smaller in-door show in addition to the multi-night outside stadium affair. Oakland was on of the very few cities to get the smaller in-door show. Miraculously, I was able to get tickets to the small in-door show as they sold out instantly. They opened with "My Generation" and played for three hours. Amazing. Pete Townshend was having some guitar issues so he started smashing up his guitar on stage -- something he gave up many years before. Rolling Stone did a special write up on this Oakland concerrt by the Who. Magical ... we will never see stuff like that again ...

The best concert that I've been to, which is only out of two.... :P -cough- would HAVE to be Tommy Emmanuel's.

The other concert, which was my first one, was the Gary Burton Quartet, but my mom, grandma, and I all just went to see Pat Metheny. Haha, three generations of Metheny lovers....it was awesome. :D

So, I guess the only two concerts that I've ever been to tie with one another. :P

I'm old and every concert was the best but for threads sake:

Jimi Hendrix Experience - Hollywood Bowl, Sept.'68

The Cream - Coliseum, Oct.'68

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - Knebworth Festival, July '74

Well Brad Paisley is now the best concert I have been to thanks to a little help from Darius Rucker (Previously known as Hootie).
