There are two concerts at equal sized venues across the street from one another. One has David Gilmour and the other Roger Waters. You are offered equally great seats for both but you are only allowed to attend one. Which is it gonna be?

Well, this one has been put to test in real life, hasn't it?

As Roger Waters mournfully recalled, most people took the Gilmour "offical Floyd" option.

Roger Waters' career: talk about shooting yourself in the foot...

Were not all the great Floyd's recording done before 1985 when Roger Waters ran the show?
The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967)
A Saucerful of Secrets (1968)
Ummagumma (1969)
Atom Heart Mother (1970)
Meddle (1971)
Obscured by Clouds (1972)
The Dark Side of the Moon (1973)
Wish You Were Here (1975)
Animals (1977)
The Wall (1979)
The Final Cut (1983)

Roger Waters on Bass and Sys Barrett were Pink Floyd at the start and Gilmour took Barrett's place 67'68'because the dude had problems. Roger waters led that band to success though for like 18 years. How could it be said Gilmour plays Floyd better then Waters? It took both of them to add up to what they were.

Hi cvilleira: yes, sure. (Though I like some bits of The Division Bell too.)

But really, would you turn out to hear Waters playing the bass lines of a Floyd show or Gilmour playing the guitar parts?

I guess you certainly pay attention to the bass line on One of These Days. I think even I could cover that one if I had to, though. Not sure it justifies the cost of a stadium ticket to say we saw Roger playing it...

Cheers - C

Pull the fire alarm at the Gilmour show and make the two play the show together on the Waters side.

Sorry.. I know. Loophole.

I honestly think I would be interested in the Waters show. I've already seen the Gilmour show.

Gilmour all the way.

Turns out Waters is nowhere near as epic as he thought he was.

Gilmour of the two as solo artist for sure. But together they were Floyd and the 70's were Floyds best years. After Waters left Floyd they were done of the hay day years. Pink Floyd survived on the reputation of the early works more then anything done after Waters left and was no longer arranging and writing many of the songs.
Also I think some people are just saying Gilmour because they no him and his works with of Pink Floyd not thinking the great Pink Floyd years were when they were together and many Vocals were Waters and the songs were writen by him also.
But to pose the question as a Pink Floyd concert give me Waters years which included Gilmour.
