Hi,
My opinion is that whatever you decide on, if your serious about playing, buy the best quality guitar you can afford. When starting out you can become easily discouraged, and trying to learn on "less than good" guitar will just worsen the problem.
Get a good guitar and play!

Thank you guys for your good advices. I think I will just go with electric because, as some of you said, it is easier to play and versatile.

Good choice.

There's no right answer - it only matters what you want to do. Some will say that to be a true musician/guitarist you must start on acoustic. I say life's too short ... enjoy!

well then i would go for an electric for sure. sure you have to buy an amp and everything, but you will have the opportunity to play music that you like and you will like the way you sound.

go for a Fender Strat Pack. they include a Squier Strat (a great starter guitar) as well as an amp, a cable, extra strings, a couple of picks, and a tuner.

8) I started on acoustic and it built my finger strength up fast. then got an electric. but if playing an acoustic wont be fun for you go electric.

Good thing about acoustics is that you can get away with open chords. I don't like the sound of open strings on an electric so had to learn bar chords after getting an electric. Open chords are easier to learn. A few days to learn C,G,F, Am, & D and you are ready to start playing some songs.
