My most recent impulse buy:

I go to the "big city" with my son (age 18) to buy him a quality Taylor. I come home with the Taylor (and my son) and with a nice shiny new Princeton Reverb Reissue.
You bought your one year old a Tayler! You should be Father of the year.

actually my son is eighteen but when i enter in the digits "1" "8" followed by ")" this forum displays 18) for some reason.

My dad never took me out to buy a guitar. He was just like "you have to earn the money and buy it yourself". $@!&.

A few years back i went in a local guitar shop to get my first electric and had my mind made up on a HSS Strat MIM. Then this salesman shows me this Ibanez Artcore Hollowbody because i had mentioned i play rhythm so i made the stupid decision to get the Ibanez which i hated after i got it home. I had to sell it to get rid of it cause there wasn't a return policy at the shop. Just give me a shop with someone who will take the money and let me shop for myself. It still angers me to think about it. Very stupid decision on my part. I guess i was too green with electrics to know what i wanted and the store salesman saw it.

My stupidest impulse buy was my only impulse buy: A Fender Blues Junior. I hated it, never got a good tone out of it, and was thrilled to get most of m,y money back out of it.

Did this thread got culled because a couple of us dared to utter a few discouraging words about a Fender product?

Seriously? Is that what happened?

Are you sure you haven't got this thread mixed up with the "Purchases you hated after a week" one? I think if there was a policy of editing out disparaging remarks, we'd never see a post containing the word "relic"... heh
