Anybody go to buy one thing and come home with something else totally unplanned?

My most recent impulse buy:

I go to the "big city" with my son (age 18) to buy him a quality Taylor. I come home with the Taylor (and my son) and with a nice shiny new Princeton Reverb Reissue.

My first music impulse buy:
The year, 1974. My dad takes me to Atlanta's Rhythm City to buy my first professional electric--I've been dreaming about a Fender Stratocaster, I come home with...a Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top. It was 8 years before I get my first Stratocaster--and I still have it.

I went to buy new tires for my car, about 12 years ago, and ended up buying a new car instead of tires. 8)

Last year, we took our old car in for inspection - it failed, and so, we bought a new used car and the inspection fee was waived

Went to buy a wall hanger hook for one of my guitars, walked out with 2 of em, because I needed the extra one for the Epiphone Dot I bought.

Also about 20 years or so ago, when I was young and broke, I bought some George Thoroughgood tickets, and then had to sell some CD's and stuff to make rent.

I did something like that... gave my wife a ride to the dealer to pick up her car from the service department, and when she saw what a death trap my old Celica GT had become, I ended up trading it in on a new Altima.

Called into work and said, "I'm going to be late getting back from lunch. I'm buying a car."

The salesman made the deal, gave me over a grand for my Celica, and when I tossed him the keys I said.... "Brakes are slipping, it grinds going into reverse, burns oil, diesels when you shut it off, dash lights are burned out, one headlight's dead, tires have 55K on 'em... oh, and it's out of gas."

But that wasn't stupid. That Altima was a great car.

Hello Guitarist1983,

Some years back{1977}, I stopped in a
local{now gone} music store for
picks, string or some small baubble.
In walks a fellow wanting to sell his
classical guitar for $110, the store owner
had no interest so I asked to check it out.
After a trip to the bank I got my first classical.
Wish I had it today.

Cheers.

Digitech BP80 pedal for my bass.

Clumsy to set up, the presets are all over the place volume wise, just never got a "warm fuzzy" from that thing.

I don't have stupid impulse buys. Except when it comes to video games...

I'd probably make impulse buys if I had money.

Once I walked into guitar center with $100 in my pocket, and I walked out with it too! I couldn't believe I did that, especially since they had a broken Epi Dot at a discounted price. But I was able to resist and save up enough for my Texas Specials. :D
