My mistake.. i didn't mean to imply any improprieties on SRV's behalf. Just thought that Buddy and Stevie use(d) alot of the same turnarounds in the same way. Buddy did a great service at this particular show where he stopped mid-"Hoochie-coochie man" and said "This is how Clapton would play it"... or "I'll try to do it like B.B. " .... he schooled the crowd. He was able to play other players' styles. He didn't "try" an SRV impersonation at all. Nobody can play like Buddy, nobody can play like B.B., Jimi, SRV,A.King,F.King,etc. but they all posess a phrase or two that makes the hair on your arm stand up...

I have been to Chicago twice, and both times I made attempts to go to Buddy's club, but due to my lack of patience, and the tremendouslly rediculous traffic on the Chicago interstates, I never made it!

However, I did treat myself to a couple of seats up front for his show in Charleston,WV next month, very excited to see him!

For bigger venues Buddy likes a Bassman, Chicago Blues Box makes an amp for him that is based on the sound of his late 50's Bassman. He doesn't like to take the originals on the road.
