i've got an mim strat and i was wondering what i should do to make it sound the best it possibly can. I have heard of changing the pickups or saddles but im not sure what kind of pickups/saddles i should get.

What sound are you looking for in new pickups?

Ok here's a list for the MIM

Drop the pickups out. They have no sustain at all. I just put in some Lace Sensor Hot Gold Pickups in mine. Now i have no hum, Loud, Vintage Pick ups and yes sustain.

Leave the saddles, no biggie. Change the string tree to a rolling one, like on the American series. You can order them from Musiciansfriend for like $3. And the last thing is change out the Tuners to Locking ones so you can use the tremelo without tuning slippage.

And if you want change the pickguard. alot of people go with a Pearloid pickguard however there are many companies that make virtually every color and design you can think of.

Someone would say my upgrades are early 90's strat plus envy but hey i liked that guitar it was the best setup yet.
