I use 11-49. I like bigger strings as I feel I get a bigger and better tone. Plus prior to using 11-49s, I used 10-46s and would always break my A or D strings, and once or twice, even my low E string...Once I switched, that has only happened once in 10 years now...Another reason I like bigger strings is because 3 years ago I tuned all my guitars down 1-whole step (DGCFAD), and thicker strings help prevent strings from being too loose if you you down tune any...

Disadvatages...thicker string sets can sometimes be a bit more expensive, and they are sometimes not as widely available as 9-42 or 10-46 sets are...

cant vote there as it only offers one choice and i use:

9's on my strat
11's on my tele
10's on my acoustic.

Up until recently i only ever used 9's, but decided to try out different gauges and the tele seems designed for heavier gauge strings.

I didn't vote since you didn't have my guages listed. I use .010 to .038 on my strats and tele.

My gauge isn't there either. For me though, it depends which guitar.

Lately I've been using the Eric Johnson Rockers
.010 - .050 or .011 - .052

I used to use 11's and 13's until they started to destroy the tendons in my left hand. Now I just use 10's. The slight difference in tone wasn't worth the pain. If you have big strong hands, you'll probably be okay. I'm still heavy on my resophonic guitar but that's pretty much for slide work. I use John Pierce 13-56.

I went with 9's because that is what I have on my Strat and I play it more than my accoustic which has 10's

I have 9's on my MIA Standard but have switched to 10's on my MIM HSS. I bought a set by accident the last time I purchased strings and figured why not try them and see how they are.

I use to 10s.
I like the feel and soound of them. Thicker than the 9s but easier to bend than the 11s

On my electric i use 10-46 and on my acoustics i use 12-56 in Ernie Ball or Elixers with the poly coating. They both have better tone and last longer.

Just recently switched from 9's to all 11's to 49's
I am considering leaving 11's on the high side and trying smaller 40's on the low side

'Tend to like 11s as a breed on electrics and 12s or 13s on acoustic.

With 11s, 'favour wound 3rds and flatwounds for surf and jazz, rounds for most other stuff.
